The Beacon Counselling Ministry is being reviewed and restructured at this time.
Beacon Counselling Ministry is a non-intrusive service offered to both Christian and non-Christian clients that addresses the ‘presenting issues’ of the clients themselves. Our counselling team consists of trained prayer ministers who use Elijah House Prayer Ministry principles, along with other professional counseling dynamics. They include psychologists, social workers, creative counsellors and trainers in the Elijah House Ministry principles. Where necessary we also work with consulting psychiatrists.
This ministry serves the needs of members of our church, as well as those coming from the wider community. It offers confidential help and guidance, based on biblical principles, to individuals, couples and families facing difficult situations in their lives. Such difficulties include:
- Grief and loss
- Abusive situations
- Relational problems
- Stress and anxiety
- Guilt and shame
- Spiritual oppression
Elijah House Prayer Ministry is a prayerful, social and spiritual dialogue between the prayer minister and the client, with the aim of inviting God into whatever difficult situation they face. In many cases this process allows the person to see the problem they are facing from a whole new perspective. This brings understanding which then leads to a realisation that there are actions they can take and choices they can make to bring lasting change to resolve or lessen the impact of these issues.
This ministry operates on Wednesdays at the Cornerstone Ministry Centre and the fees are based on a sliding scale related to income. For an appointment call 07 3353 2020 on Wednesdays.
